Vinegar can be flushed down the toilet on its own. After waiting 30 to 40 minutes, you can flush the drain with a cup of vinegar. Vinegar's high acid content (which makes it effective on soap scum) will degrade some of the adhered organic matter.
Wet wipes and other sanitary products flushed down the toilet and grease and oil from the kitchen, poured down the drain are two of the most common culprits of clogs. Because they tend to cling to one another, these materials can eventually accumulate to the point where they clog drains and pipes.
An easy way to clear a clogged drain is to pour boiling water. If a clog has formed due to a grease buildup, boiling water can remove and dissolve the grease.
