The Gas Safe Register is run by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). It is not a trade association or a membership body. The HSE runs on behalf of the relevant Health and Safety Authority for Great Britain, North Ireland, Jersey, Guernsey, and Isle of Man.
A Gas Safe certified engineer always carries their Gas Safe ID card to show that they are registered. If unsure, go on the Gas Safe register and use the Gas Safe register check option to know if the person is registered.
All British Gas engineers are Gas Safe registered. Of course, you can go and do a quick check on the register using their licence number.
Most Gas Safe services are conducted online. All you need to do is get on their website, go to the “Contact Us” section and provide the appropriate information for which you need help.
