Waste incineration and landfill disposal are widely viewed as the most harmful waste management practices. Waste incineration contributes to climate change by increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide levels, while landfill disposal has safety risks and can seep toxic compounds into the soil.
Recycling. Recycling provides raw materials for the creation of new products while also conserving energy and keeping waste out of landfills and incinerators. Recycling is the next best thing if the trash cannot be avoided, and recycling does more than make landfills last longer.
A lack of public awareness, or perhaps more precisely, a lack of understanding inside enterprises and poor attitudes, is one of the primary causes of inadequate waste management. When something has reached the end of its useful life, it is often discarded with little regard for the environment.
